HOW, WHEN & WHAT AQUATECH PRODUCTS TO USE


GENERAL EXTERIOR MAINTENANCE

Wash with Boatwash Concentrate (Part # 501) & Wash Mitt (Part #525). Use Concentrated Marine Cleaner (Part #707) on stubborn stains, decks, transoms and engine room cleanups. Dry exterior with Aquadry Plus Synthetic Drying Cloth (Part #551).


VINYL (CUSHIONS, COAMING, ETC.)

Clean dirt and mildew with Concentrated Marine Cleaner (Part #707). Dry completely with Aquadry Plus (Part #551) and apply marine Vinyl & Soft Top Dressing (Part #401) with Wax Applicator (Part #250).


GLASS & ENCLOSURES (CLEAR & VINYLS)

Wash with Boatwash Concentrate (Part #501) & Wash Mitt (Part #525). Dry with Aquadry Plus (Part #551). Apply Glass Cleaner & Protectant (Part #701) with cotton cloth for UV Protection & Water Repellency. Clear Vinyl enclosures should be cleaned with Enclosure Clear Cleaner & Protectant (Part #750). Use Premier Polish (Part #201) for added water repellency and protection.
NOTE: For hard water spots on glass windows only, use Water Spot Remover for Glass (Part #801) with an orbital buffer or by hand with Wax Applicator (Part #250).

 

STAINLESS STEEL & CHROME

 

GENERAL EXTERIOR MAINTENANCE

ANODIZED ALUMINUM
New Use Premier Polish (Part #201) or Ultra High Gloss Polish (Part #601) with Wax Applicator (Part #250) or Aluminum & Stainless Polish (Part #301). Wipe clean with soft cotton cloth. Oxidized pipe: Use Buff & Cut Compound (Part #616) or Polishing Compound (Part #606) with Wax Applicator (Part #250) or ultra fine scrub pads (white).

GELCOAT AND PAINTED SURFACES
Heavy oxidation: Use Buff & Cut Compound (Part #616) and buffer with Compounding Pad (Part #101). Follow with Ultra High Gloss Polish (part #601) by hand or with a buffer & Polishing Pad (Part #101P). For mild oxidation: Use Polishing Compound (Part #606) with Compounding Pad (Part #101) or by hand with Wax Applicator (Part #250). Follow with Ultra High Gloss Polish (Part #601) or Premier Polish (Part #201), by hand or with a buffer and Polishing Pad (Part #101P).  NOTE: it is recommended that a high speed buffer (1 800-2200 Rpm's) be used for compounding Gelcoat and Paint for best results.

CANVAS FABRICS, COVERS, ETC.
Remove (whenever possible) and clean fabric according to manufacturers specifications. Allow to dry completely. Apply Water Repellent (Part #450) by spraying or wiping onto surface until damp. Allow to dry completely before washing or wetting surface.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS

AQUATECH BUFFING PADS, Part #101 & 101P
Foam pads now available for compounding and polishing.
Aquatech's professional high speed buffing pads are made of 100% 1-1/2" twisted 4-ply sheeps wool for excellent compounding and polishing. They are washable, and feature a loop backing with a center arbor hole, to allow quick attachment and precise balancing to Aquatech's Backing Plate (part #102).

AQUATECH BACKING PLATE, Part #201
Aquatech's Backing Plate is designed with a hook and loop back for fast and easy attachment of our buffing pads. This allows the user to use several pads without having to unscrew a conventional pad. Its flexible foam center creates maximum pad flexibility during buffing.

AQUATECH PREMIER POLISH, Part #201
Aquatech's Premier Polish is an acrylic polymer formulated to clean, shine and protect gelcoat, paint, Strataglass enclosures, clean vinyls and metal surfaces. Due to its extremely tight molecular bond it forms a barrier that dirt, black streaks, spider droppings and acid rain will not penetrate, giving the surface months of protection. To use, surface should be clean and in good condition before applying Premier Polish. Shake well and apply with wax applicator. Allow to haze and remove with a soft cloth or buffer.
New water base formula now available.

AQUATECH WAX APPLICATOR, Part #250
The Aquatech Was Applicator is a 4" x 5" terry cloth covered sponge used to apply compound or polish to a gelcoat or painted surface. It's 100% cotton terry cloth exte5ior provides multiple uses and will not scratch the surfaces it is used on. When the applicator becomes dirty, simply wash out with soap or Aquatech Concentrated marine Cleaner (part #707), rinse thoroughly and allow to dry.

AQUATECH ALUMINUM & STAINLESS POLISH, Part #301
Aquatech's Aluminum and Stainless Polish is a felt type material designed to clean all types of marine metals. It removes oxidation, light rust, and corrosion on stainless, anodized aluminum and chrome. To use, simply remove a small portion of felt from the can. Rub metal surface until dirt and tarnish is removed. Wipe clean with a cotton cloth. You may replace felt into the can for further use until it becomes dry. NOTE: Do not use on lacquered or plated surfaces.

AQUATECH MARINE VINYL & SOFT TOP DRESSING, Part #401
Aquatech's Marine Vinyl and Soft Top Dressing is formulated to restore luster and water repellency to all marine cushions, tops, cockpit coamings and other marine vinyl materials. It will actually dry on the material and withstand multiple washings while providing excellent UV protection. Shake well and use soft cloth or sponge to apply.  NOTE: Not recommended for fabric or canvas. Clean surface with Part #707 before applying.

AQUATECH WATER REPELLENT, Part #450
Aquatech's Water Repellent will restore the water repellency to your old canvas, stopping those annoying drips and leaky seams for up to 12 months from application. It contains no silicones, which will attract dirt and leave your canvas feeling oily.
Aquatech's Water Repellent will also help retard the growth of mildew. To apply, simply wash canvas and allow to dry completely. Next, spray Aquatech Water Repellent onto canvas only and allow to dry. We are confident that you will find Aquatech's Water Repellent to have superior quality and longevity in its unique formula.

AQUATECH BOATWASH CONCENTRATE, Part #501
Aquatech's Boatwash Concentrate is a free rinsing, neutral PH soap formulated to clean and shine your boat's exterior. It removes diesel smoke as well as black streaks, while not stripping the protective finish. It may be diluted in a pail of water or used directly on a soft brush or wash mitt. To use, first wet area to be cleaned, wash with Aquatech Boatwash and rinse thoroughly. This soap will decrease water spots and streaking; however, drying with Aquadry Plus (Part #551) or squeegee will enhance the finish.

AQUATECH WASH MITT, Part #525
Aquatech's Wash Mitt is made of a soft, absorbent, heavy duty blend of Lorene-dynel which allows you to clean your boats surface without scratching or removing its protective finish.

AQUADRY PLUS SYNTHETIC DRYING CLOTH, Part #551
The Aquadry Plus is a special blend of absorbent synthetic fibers that easily dries and cleans all marine surfaces. It is super soft, more absorbent, mildew resistant and more durable than other synthetics. To use, remove from tube and dry boat's surface. Ring out chamois when it becomes full of water and continue drying. Always rinse out and replace in tube when finished. Aquatech Chamois Mop (Part #595) now available.

AQUATECH ULTRA HIGH GLOSS POLISH, Part #601
Aquatech's Ultra High Gloss Polish is a special blend of polymers formulated to be used with a machine buffer. It has a very slow drying time to enable maximum workability and bonding to the surface. While removing oxidation, swirl marks, and minor scratches, it produces a very durable acrylic-like glossy finish that will withstand multiple washings. To use, shake well and apply with a wax applicator. For best results work area immediately with machine buffer, allow to dry and rebuff or wipe with cotton cloth. NOTE: May also be removed by hand with a cotton cloth.

AQUATECH POLISHING COMPOUND, Part #606
Aquatech's Polishing Compound is a specially designed compound formulated to remove oxidation and fine scratches from gelcoat and painted surfaces. It leaves a clean, highly polished finish that should be protected with Aquatech's Premier Polish (part #201) or Aquatech's Ultra High Gloss Polish (Part #601). It is recommended that the compound be applied and removed with a machine buffer for best results, however, light oxidation may be removed by hand. To use, clean surface to be compounded. Shake well and apply to small area with a wax applicator, or brush. Immediately buff area until no compound remains. Repeat process if any oxidation or scratches remain.

AQUATECH GLASS CLEANER & PROTECTANT, Part #701
Aquatech's Glass Cleaner and Protectant cleans, shines and protects while leaving a protective water repellent finish. It is great for quick clean-ups and protecting Plexiglass , Lexan, enclosures and other nonporous surfaces. To use, simply spray onto surface and wipe dry with a cotton cloth.

AQUATECH BUFF AND CUT COMPOUND, Part #616
Aquatech's Buff and Cut Compound is a water soluble compound that's formulated to remove severe oxidation and scratches from gelcoat and paint. Use a brush or wax applicator to apply compound to surface to be buffed. Do no more than a 9 square foot section at one time. In direct sunlight you may use water in a mist type spray bottle to keep compound damp. This will increase buffing time, since it is most effective when kept moist. Aquatech's Glass Cleaner will also work well as a "buffing spray". Machine Buff area (1800 - 2200 RPM's) with Aquatech's Compounding pad until no compound remains. Wipe clean with cotton cloth. Repeat if necessary. If oxidation is less severe use Aquatech Polishing Compound (Part #606). Follow up by using Aquatech's Ultra High Gloss Polish (Part #601) for a super glossy finish that is surpassed by none.  NOTE: For OEM's Buff and Cut works extremely well to remove styrene and wax build-up on production molds and plugs.

AQUATECH CONCENTRATED MARINE CLEANER, Part #707
Aquatech's Concentrated Marine Cleaner is a multipurpose spray that penetrates and cleans many types of marine surfaces. It works well on all fiberglass, vinyl, and nonskid surfaces, and is also an excellent degreaser and black streak remover. Simply spray on to a wash mitt or area to be cleared and wipe or rinse clean. If area is heavily soiled repeat the above steps. If used to clean vinyl, follow up by applying Aquatech Marine Vinyl and Soft Top Dressing (Part #401). NOTE: Due to various grades of marine surfaces and materials, it is recommended that an inconspicuous area be tested first. Not recommended for glass or plastic enclosures.

ENCLOSURE CLEAR CLEANER & PROTECTANT, Part #750
Enclosure Clear Cleaner and Protectant is manufactured for clear vinyl and plastic products by Aquatech Marine Care Products. It is specially formulated to clean, shine and protect clear vinyls while leaving a water repellent finish. Enclosure Clear Cleaner and Protectant contains no ammonia or alcohol that will break down the protective coating on clear vinyls. Regular use of this product will remove and help keep water spots from building up on the surface as well as ensure that it remains clear and flexible. Enclosure Clear is also excellent for electronic displays, monitor screens as well as aircraft windows. To purchase Enclosure Clear Cleaner and Protectant, contact your local canvas shop or contact Aquatech for a dealer nearest you.

AQUATECH WATER SPOT REMOVER, Part #801
Aquatech's Water Spot Remover for Glass easily removes water spots from glass that occur due to impurities found in water left on the glass to dry. It does not contain harsh chemicals or abrasives that will etch or haze glass. To use, apply to a small section of glass with a wax applicator working in a circular motion. Wipe clean. Repeat process if necessary. When finished protect with Aquatech Glass Cleaner and Protectant (Part #701). Some water spots that have been on glass for a prolonged period of time may need to be machine buffed. Always use a chamois or squeegee to dry after washing.  NOTE: Some spots may be etched in by age and may never totally come out. Note: Product is intended for hard glass only.
